About the Finders Keepers
About the Markets.
The Finders Keepers Markets are a bi-annual event that showcases the work of emerging designers and artists from all around Australia & even New Zealand! Our first markets were held in December 2008 at Carriageworks in Sydney. in 2009 we successfully launched our first interstate Markets in Brisbane and in 2010 we were proud to be also launching in Melbourne.
With a passion for bringing independent design to the forefront and encouraging the Australian emerging art & design scene, we've created markets that maintain a grass roots level however maintain to have work of high standards in both quality and innovative design.
If you have never been to a Finders Keepers event you are in for quite a
treat, like no other event in Australia the markets have a festival
feel with live music, cafe & bar with thousands of people
celebrating independent art & design.
After 5 years of
offering our events for free to the public, we are kindly asking for a
gold coin donation upon entry. To ensure we can continue to offer you
the markets, and for them to be bigger and better than ever!! We thank
you for your support!
Why we do what we do.
Our aim was to create a platform for emerging designers, artists & musicians to showcase their work in a supportive and creative atmosphere.
We encourage and inspire others to harness their creativity and try to help to educate communities to invest in handmade, locally designed and produced independent design.
We found a need to bridge the gap between the local weekly style markets and design trade fairs & exhibitions. We hope to give opportunities for designers to gain exposure and experience interaction direct with customers and the community.

We have a strong media following. With the help of our fantastic PR agency Publissimo we have been featured in many print and online publications such as Frankie, Peppermint, InsideOut, Time Out, Jetstar, QLD Homes, SMH, The Courier, MX, 9to5, Object Magazine and many local papers and street press. In 2009 we were honoured to be listed in the Sydney Morning Herald’s, The (sydney) magazine’s top 100 most influential people in Sydney for design and architecture. We were also listed in Sydney’s top 100 Creative Catalysts as part of Creative Sydney. In 2010 we were also guest speakers at Creative Sydney in their 'Making it Happen' panel discussion.
